Heart Chakra Wisdom leads to Sage-ing not Age-ing

A key sign of heart chakra wisdom and awakening is that your relationship to time changes. When you read many articles on awakening the heart chakra this relationship to time is one aspect rarely, if ever, mentioned.

The opening of the Heart chakra allows you to experience the Timeless or the Eternal.

This is the real meaning of the phrase that ends many fairy tales, “And they lived happily ever after.”  Except that this is no fairy tale.  The experience of the Timeless or eternity is an experience of the REAL.

The open-heart chakra allows you a glimpse of what it is like to live beyond the limits of personality.

This is the KNOWING of LOVE.

It is LOVE as a state of Being rather than as something you have to acquire by way of relationship with another.

This gives you the wisdom of KNOWING who, and why you are. This is where you willingly become a servant of Love’s purpose.  This invites Sage-ing rather than Age-ing.

This is another key aspect of heart chakra awakening rarely, if ever, mentioned in other heart awakening articles related to chakras.

You experience what it is to KNOW yourself beyond the mask of who you think you are (‘persona’ meaning “mask”). I had this enlightening experience while in my early 20s but it tends to become established later in life.

This is when you enter the 2^nd half of life.

It is not to be confused with the University of the 3^rd age.  You are educated by the Universe.  Being educated by the Universe is where you are open to being thought through by the Divine.

This is the only real University education. It is transformational KNOWING through the heart.  It isn’t intellectual knowledge expressing from the dualistic personal mind.

You move from what Rabbi xxx refers to as Sage-ing not Age-ing. The experience of becoming Sage like is a sign that you are living with an open-hearted approach to life.

Sage-ing is not acquiring more information.

It is qualifiedly different.  It is not information you acquire from past experience.  It is insight arising from your felt connection to Presence and the present moment. You recognize that it isn’t your wisdom. It is wisdom that comes through you.

Age-ing happens within time. Sage-ing happens outside of time.

As a writer about the 7 major chakra system and techniques to balance and align this system (Y-E-S), I read a lot of nonsense on the internet related to balancing, healing, or aligning the heart chakra.

Whatever you read within the 1^st page of a Google search on the heart chakra, there is rarely any mention about the heart chakra and its relationship to eternity.

Most all such internet writing is about the heart chakra and personal relationship and personal relationship breakup.

This is a sure sign that the writer is writing about the chakra system, not as a mystic, but as someone who has never had a direct experience of heart awakening.

You see this same thing happen within all major religious teaching.

The mystic poet William Blake put it this way.

They read their Bible day and night. Where they read black, I read white – William Blake.

I have found this through my 50+ years that is the adventure of the spiritual journey.  There are those who KNOW and those who think they know. The mystic KNOWS.  The believer does not know but would have you believe they do.

Mostly, we have the blind leading the blind.

There is no Sage advice. They give more cerebral information. There may be encouragement to believe in the experience of eternity, but there is no genuine conviction given because there has been no direct experience of what is being invited.

The Sage speaks to you from the dimension of the Timeless.  Most people can only listen from the experience of time.  This is the challenge all wisdom teacher’s face.

The individual with an awakened heart is both a Sage and a mystic. They KNOW the Secret of Secrets is inside themselves.

Their delight is to point you toward that direct experience of KNOWING beyond the overthinking mind and the personal sense of the separate self. (False Self – Thomas Merton)

The mystic, the Sage, wants you to FEEL the flow of the Higher into the lower (the personality) so you as the personality can live a transformed life. They invite you to become a living revelation rather than a head filled with more information.

They want you to move from the focus on cerebral belief into the authentic faith experience beyond belief.

My view is that if you have not KNOWN the GRACE of living in eternity, at least once in your wild and precious life that you have no authority to write about heart chakra awakening.

You become the blind leading the blind. You invite others to age within the limitation of time rather than delight in KNOWING the direct person/non-personal experience of the Timeless. You make promises about the Timeless of which you have no direct experience.

Such was the situation during my Christian upbringing in Northern Ireland.  I went back some years ago to find that the situation hadn’t changed.  The wisdom message of Christ was still being taught by tired old men.

As an Irish storyteller, I love the mythology of Ireland.

In Ireland, we tell stories about the dimension of the Timeless.  We have a story about the Land of Tír na nÓg.  This is the Land of the Forever Young.  This is the Land of the Beautiful People called The Tuatha de Danaan.

Most people reading or hearing such mythological stories, like the mythological stories in the Bible, take them literally or to be stories that are myth—meaning that they are not real.

The language of myth is the language of the soul – Joseph Campbell

Therefore, most people never grasp the enormity of the wisdom teachings in such scriptures as the Bible.  The Bible is a guide to the Mind. The stories as taught by those who are not Sages are taught literally rather than mythologically and symbolically.

This is in larger part why the experience that is beyond belief is missed.

We interpret them at the level of the personality because the teachers have never experienced that dimension beyond the personal.

Such wisdom stories are interpreted by the dualistic overthinking mind.  Thus you have theology rather than revelation.  You have logic-chopping (Osho)  but you have no insight and no KNOWING.

You are invited to read about eternal life as a promise and that is all it ever is.

The reason it remains a promised of a possibility following the death of the form of the body is because the people teaching this wisdom have never lived outside time. They teach what they do not know.

KNOWING is the invitation from living from the open heart.  It is far more challenging that trying to recover from a relationship breakup.  The challenge is as the modern mystic Eckhart Tolle writing in The Power of NOW is to

Die before you die so that you KNOW there is no death – Eckhart Tolle – The Power of NOW.

This is not the invitation you will find in any of the top 10 Google searches on healing the heart chakra.  Its all about healing your sense of personal self.

This is important and not to be ignored but this is the task of the lower three chakras and not the task of forth chakra or heart chakra.

Does this invitation to the experience of eternity confuse you?  Does it excite you? Does it give you a remembrance of something you have a longing to KNOW beyond some cerebral idea in your head?

Sage-ing is to KNOW the experience of LOVE as a state of BEING. 

From this KNOWING of Love, you are a SAGE. This is an extremely high state of evolution. It is a high state of union (yoga). It arises from the practice of prayer and meditation and the power of silence.

This is where you as an open-hearted individual are being thought through by Divine intention.  Again there is never any mention of this experience when you read most articles on heart chakra awakening.

Yet here is a key sign of such heart chakra awakening.

Your life flows. You are a Sage, but you are not claiming such wisdom as your own. You are the channel for Divine KNOWING.  The KNOWER and knowledge are one.

You are not a believer, but one who willingly lives from authentic faith.

You will still age within the limitation of time, but your heart is light because you are living in alignment with the Timeless.

The mystic and New Thought teacher Ralph Waldo Trine refers to this kind of alignment as BEING In Tune with the Infinite.

You are living happily in the forever NOW

Part of my focus at this website is to create reminders that invite the awakening of the heart.

I do this through the language of symbols and affirmation. I encircle transformational symbols with the language of the heart. The symbol of the circle is the symbol of wholeness. It is the symbol of union and of yoga.

These words and symbols remind you that the heart longs to KNOW its home within the experience of the eternal.  This is KEY. The heart is symbolically represented by the story of the Prodigal Son when he returns home from the wasteland of living as a sense of the personal self.

To remind you of anything less is to remain in what the poet T. S. Eliot calls The Wasteland. The poet Rilke says of this “not knowing of the experience of eternity.”

And so long as you haven’t experienced this: to die and so to grow,
you are only a troubled guest on the dark earth.

The Holy Longing is the longing to KNOW the Secret of Secrets inside you.

This is the central longing of the heart chakra. Without it there is no real opening for the higher to flow into the lower and bring about the transformation that would bring you alive to a degree previously unimagined.

This higher flowing into the lower (the personality) is symbolised by the caterpillar who turns into a butterfly.

You are the dance of eternity within time.

Anyone who writes about heart chakra awakening who does not remind you of this KEY symptom is showing their ignorance.

Do not have the blind leading you into thinking the heart chakra is about your personal love relationship or lack thereof. Your personal love relationship has more to do with the lower three chakras, which relate to your personality and not your opening to the revelation of Divine Love within you.

Heart chakra awakening is about the transformational experience of realizing that you are LOVE.  From this KNOWING you pour forth the blessing you are as a reflection of the One Life. You move from Age-ing within time to Sage-ing from the Timeless.

Sage-ing is having the time of your life, but there is a paradox.

This paradox allows you to KNOW that the less time you spend trying to live life on your terms, the more alive you become. This is a key sign of the spiritual awakening process. . This is a key sign of the spiritual awakening process. .

When you heavily identify with your personality as being who you are it ties you to your time-bound identity.

You are a collection of memories of the past moving toward a receding future. You identify with Age-ing. This is often why many old people are boring.  They repeat and repeat what has gone.

They are a collection of memory devoid of Presence with nothing to teach the younger generation about what it means to be truly alive. They are not Bolder – just older.  They are not Elders – just old people living in time.

With Sage-ing you become less identified with the personality and flow from Essence.

You still age but this is not who you see or feel yourself to be. You are the flow of Love in form.  The form will pass, but Love is eternal.

It is in the 2^nd Half of Life that we begin to enter the opportunity to experience the blessings of sharing the wisdom that moves from our open heart.
